Patients over 45 usually need reading glasses to see computers, cell phones, or reading material, such as newsprint or books. Ophthalmologists can use Monovision, where one eye is corrected to see in the distance and one eye is corrected to read in Lasik Laser Vision Correction, Cataract Surgery, or with Contact Lenses. If you are over 45 and are considering Lasik Laser Vision Correction, treatment of Cataracts, or Contact Lens treatment, you should ask your Ophthalmologist if you are a good candidate for Monovision. Ophthalmologists have found that about 50% of patients can adapt well to Monovision.
